Why paperboard makes sense

At a 96% recovery rate for cardboard and paperboard packaging from commercial bailers, curbside recycle bins, to MRF’s; it’s our nations most established and reliable recycle stream.

When we began designing ReadyCycle® we wanted to create a truly intuitive package for the entire chain of custody of its lifespan. From harvest, to market, to home. We wanted to take the guessing out of “can this be recycled?”, “will this decompose in months or hundreds or thousands of years?”, “will this harm our natural environments?”, “and could I compost this at home and add it to my garden soil?”

We answer these questions and more in our latest report to give you the tools and education you need to make a confident change to ReadyCycle packaging.

Packaging Innovation

for over 100 years

Our legacy in produce packaging began in 1923 in the Pajaro Valley of Watsonville, California. What started out as making apple crates for fellow Croatian farmers, our company, Sambrailo Packaging, evolved with the valley from apple orchards, to row crop vegetables, flowers, to the berry fields that are still booming.

“The moment I put berries into Sambrailo’s ReadyCycle packaging and brought them to stores, the customers just went crazy for them. And their willing to share in some of the costs.”
